Austria

Lake Samaranger
Lake Samarangeree is located at the Fernpass, somewhat hidden behind Lake Fernstein. It is one of the most popular diving destinations. As this lake has neither inflow nor outflow, the water here is particularly clear. Sunken trees at the far end form an underwater Mikado. Slime algae overgrow everything and create an enchanted fairytale world. If you want to dive here, you must book two nights at Hotel Schloss Fernsteinsee and have at least 100 dives under your belt. Lake Blind
On the other side of the Fernpass lies the Blindsee. Seen here from the service area at the top of the pass. It is a (not so secret anymore) insider tip among divers. Numerous sunken tree trunks form a tangled underwater Mikado. In contrast to the Samarangersee, it is not quite as clear, but has a greater abundance of fish. The Blindsee is privately owned by the MOHR Life Resort in the village of Lermoos, just a few minutes away.
