The picture on the left is from my dive buddy with his compact camera, no flash and automatich exposure settings. My coral photo on the right is made with my Nikon D200 and every setting manual: shutter 1/250s, f-stop closed until the sun doesn't get too much overexposed and both strobes full on to brighte up the foreground and get the intense colour.
