Arrieta: Waves crushing at the pier of Arrieta. 12 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Lagoon: The turqoise lagoon with yellowish sand between Bajo de los Sables and the little village Orzola. 12 January 2002, Fuji Velvia.

Lagoon: A close-up of the turquise lagoon. 17mm wideangle lens at f/16, 12 January 2001, Fuji Velvia

Boat: A boat in the turquoise lagoon between Bajo de los Sables and Orzola. 12 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Graciosa: The small island Graciosa shot from a place a few hundred meters left of Mirador del Rio. They really wanted money for a view on an island. 12 January 2002, Fuji Velvia, pol filter

Salinas del Rio: The salt extraction basins of Salinas del Rio shot from a place a few hundred meters left of Mirador del Rio. 12 January 2002, 300mm telephoto lens, Fuji Velvia

Cliffs: The cliffs somewhere between Mirador del Rio and the small villaga Las Rositas. 12 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Dunes: Dunes at the coast of Playa del Risco. 12 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

La Geria: The wineyards of La Geria in the light of the setting Sun. 12 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Two Palms: Two lonely palms on the wineyards of La Geria in an incredible light of the setting Sun. I almost thought the image was a failure (too dark) when I looked at the slide on the light table. But look what the scanner has revealed on this image. The exposure time was measured with the built-in light meter. Maybe 1/2 stop overexpure or more would have been better. 12 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Two Palms: The same two palms on the wineyards of La Geria yet from another point of view. Note the 'craters' with each a vine at their bottom. 12 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

La Geria: A hut with trees warped by the wind on the wineyards of La Geria. 12 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Car Wreck: The wreck of a car in a quarry in the environment of Teseguite. 13 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Peña del Silvo: A view from that formation in the environment of Tesequite. The hill in the background could be Peña del Silvo but I'm not sure because the map is not very accurate and the hills have no labels. 13 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Playa de Famara: The cliffs at Playa de Famara on the west coast of Lanzarote. 13 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Plains: View to the plains northwest of Teguise. In the background one can see the dunes of El Jable. 13 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Los Valles: View on the village Los Valles with the typical terrace gardens. 13 January 2002, Fuji Velvia, pol filter

Parque Eolicode: The pin wheels of the Parque Eolicode Lanzarote. I also made a longer exposure to show the rotation of the propellers but unfortunately forgot to close the camera eyepiece and the image was totally underexposed. 13 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Risco de las Nieves: Somewhere between Haria and Los Valles, looking down to Risco de las Nieves. 13 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Lonely palm: A lonely palm on the edge of a cliff between Haria and Los Valles. 13 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Haria: The pretty village Haria in the 'valley of the thenthousand palms'. The drops in the sky are caused by some donkey of the 'professional' laboratory. Well, hovever still better than scratching the whole film with 'telegraph wires' like on 1/4 of all my films from the big laboratories. 13 January, Fuji Velvia

Haria: The pretty village Haria in the 'valley of the thenthousand palms'. 13 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Haria: A meadow in the environment of Haria. Aren't that awesome colours? 13 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Haria: The pretty village Haria in the 'valley of the thenthousand palms'. 13 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

A Palm Tree: Palm standing out the shadow in the valley of Máguez. I saw this effect of light and shadow the day before while I drove up the pass. But it was too late to set up the camera so I came back the next day on time and waited one half hour for this special light which lasts only a few minutes. This is short before the Sun sets in this valley. 13 January 2002, 135mm telephoto lens (image a bit cropped), Fuji Velvia

Straight Road: The straight road from from Teguise to San Bartolomé at sunset. An interesting feature of Lanzarote is the number of useless road signs. 13 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

La Geria: Sunset at the wineyards of La Geria. 13 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Salinas de Janubio: Sunset at Salinas de Janubio with a reflection of the sun in the lagoon. 13 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Salinas de Janubio: Sunset at Salinas de Janubio. 300mm telephoto lens, 12 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Lava stream: A lava stream somewhere between San Bartolomé and La Geria. 14 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Lava stream: A lava stream somewhere between San Bartolomé and La Geria. 14 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Two palm trees: Yet again the lonely two palms in the wineyards of La Geria. This time in a different light of early afternoon. 14 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Timanfaya: The road to the Timanfaya national park. 15 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

No pictures allowed: Well ... and that's all you see from this wonderful and extraordinary National Park. I was just walking from the parking lot along the road with my camera bag and the tripod, when a guard came and threw me out of the park: "No professional photographs!" So, if you ever intend to spend money for this park (there are only tours on a camel's back or in a bus possible) and you want to make pictures then mask yourself as a dumb tourist: Use a cheap plastic APS camera, wear Bermuda shorts, sandals and white socks. 15 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Salinas de Janubio: The salt extraction basins of Salinas de Janubio. The best time to visit this is during noon when the sun is high. To see all the colours one should have the sun from the back. 15 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Salinas de Janubio: The colourful salt extraction basins of Salinas de Janubio. 15 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Salinas de Janubio: Las Salinas de Janubio. 15 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Waves: Wet and wild are the waves crushing at the Playa de Janubio. Here it is 'not recommended for bathing' they write on a sign. 15 January 2002, 300mm telephoto lens, Fuji Velvia

Playa Blanca: Looking from the roundabout at Femés towards Playa Blanca. The hill on the right hand side is Montaña Roja. In nature the light beams looked more impressive. 15 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Los Hevideros: The rough lava cliffs of Los Hevideros. No, this is no fog but blurred waves caused by the long-time exposure of about one second. 15 January 2002, pol + ND4 filter, Fuji Velvia

Plains: I climbed a little abadoned hill, think it was Montañ Corona and took this picture of the pretty patterned flatland. The houses at the sunlit horizon belong to the villages Teseguite and El Mojón. 16 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Puddle: A puddle somewhere in the Malpaís de la Corona, a lava stream. In the middle of that dark lava stream is a patch with white sand and dunes. 16 January 2002, 17mm wideangle, one stop overexposed, Fuji Velvia

Malpaís de la Corona: Black lava rocks and white sand dunes. Unfortunately the light wasn't good enough for closeups of the ripples in the dunes. It was cloudy and the Sun too high. 16 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Cliffs: The cliffs somewhere between Mirador del Rio and the small villaga Las Rositas. Same point of view as the previous shot but the light is much different. This situation lasted only for about one minute or less and didn't came back as long as I waited. 16 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Big waves: Big waves are crushing on the cliffs of Playa de Janubio. 17 January 2002, Fuji Velvia

Waves: Long exposure of waves crushing on the cliffs of Playa de Janubio. 17 January 2002, pol + ND4 filter, Fuji Velvia
