Lake Davos

Lake Davos is a natural reservoir created by a landslip long ago. In 1922 the hydroelectric gallery to the power plant in Klosters was put into service. In the winter months the Flüelabach is partially derived to the lake to guarantee the service. But still more water flows to Klosters than the sea gets by the feeding creeks so the lake gets empty. For divers the lake is only interesting when the water is pretty clear. The floor is a rather boring slope covered with sediments. Here and there are some plants and a tree stump. The only fish I have seen is at the mouth of the Totalpbach close to Hotel Seebüel.
